John and I (John and Sue Gudgel) were such good friends on Okinawa, Japan. We fought many “WARS”. together. Raised our kids and had so many good times! We were there when he left his famous Brown Oldsmobile on the Island! Love you. Elaine love always to you, Josh and Debbie!! Josh learned to be a GoodCitzen in my Cub Scouts❤

I would like
to say I only recently found out that Dr. Dohan had passed. I worked in the office with Dr. Mathur, Pearl, Veronique, and "Bermuda Schwartz"! Dr. Dohan was a wonderful friend to our family. He treated both of my daughters as if they were his grandkids! For both of their birthdays he pierced their ears and gave them each a pair of gold earrings. Although I was Dr. Mathur´s MA, I helped Dr. Dohan whenever he needed. He never stopped teaching me about dermatology and about life. He was really fond of my burly husband, Ken, who did contracting work for the good Doctor. I offer my condolences, but will always have infinite and wonderful memories of the most unique, funny, compassionate man. It was an honor and a joy having someone like him in our life.

DEAR ELAIN
We will be ever thankful and blessed to have spent quality time with Larry biking the capes bike trails and our all to infrequent get togethers for breakfast and meals at Sesuit Harbor. Larry enjoyed giving John some needed bike lessons "watch out for the yellow poles at crosswalks" and having the patient to ride with us slow folks. He will be missed by us and his continued advise on skin care, his quick wit and humor was just a sampling of many talents.

Elaine, it was such a genuine pleasure for me to get to know Larry. I'll never see a wrapped chocolate without remembering his sweetness.

Larry was one of the only staff physicians that truly helped me integrate into Marlborough Hospital when I arrived from Canada in 1979.We were part of the same coverage group for over 25 years. We remained good friends and colleagues until I went to Northern Canada to work 2011- 2016.Shortly after I returned I was visiting Dr Risk when Larry flew in via motor bike to drop off a consult ! We were both elated to see each other. That was the last time I saw him.I will never forget him either as a great person as well as an excellent physician.

One thing I greatly appreciated about Larry is that if there was something medically unusual about a dermatology patient I referred to him, he would always send me an interesting medical article about the condition. I always enjoyed working with him and discussing things with him. He will be greatly missed.

How sad to hear of Larry's, AKA Hawkeye's, AKA Bermuda, passing.
He brought so much to the practice of medicine. He was compassionate, generous, intelligent and funny. He listened well to his patients.
We were fortunate to know him and will miss him madly. My sympathies to his family.
