I'm so happy that I looked this up, Kevin. As you know, I am friends with Joyce and was close with Lenny and Joyce when we were all young parents together. I am so happy to see that you wrote about the very important political activities in his life, which were, indeed, central to his identity. Julie LaHam (formerly Bartel)

I was friends with Lenny at ND for the two years I was there. I've only kept in touch with one person from that time and I often asked him if he knew where Lenny was. I loved being around him and his cheerful aura. But he was serious on so many issues and has done so much good for so many. RIP, Lenny.

I was meaning to look up his address to send it to him and I'm saddened to learn that I won't be able to do that. If his sons would want that please contact me at [email protected]. I remember Lenny for his good humor and happy disposition. In the heat of the political turmoil that surrounded the Viet Nam war I never knew Lenny to be anything but good natured in dealing with people who disagreed with him. He was a good person with the courage of his convictions and
I'm proud to have known hm.
