Lester Horton Obituary

HORTON, Lester W."Lefty" Of Eastham, a kind and passionate man passed away on Sunday, April 18, 2010 at the age 91. Formerly of Reading, MA, he was the husband of the late Elizabeth (Bette) Landers Horton. Brother of the late Marjorie A. Durdle, of Malden. He is survived by his nieces, Nancy and her husband, Paul Perno, with whom he made his home, and Susan Durdle, all of Eastham. Great uncle of Lisa Perno of Wakefield and Nicholas and his wife Denise Perno of Saugus. Also survived by a grand nephew Jackson Perno of Saugus. Lester is also survived by many that called him "Uncle". Lifetime member of Meadowbrook Country Club of Reading. At Lester's request there are no services. Lester had excellent care from the VNA of Cape Cod. Donations to the Visiting Nurse Association of Cape Cod, P.O. Box 370, Hyannis, Ma. 02601-0370 or the charity of your choice would be appreciated. I was sorry to hear of "Uncle" Lester's passing. I have known him since I was just a little girl. He was often at my parent's, Ann and Dick Neilson's home in Reading. Please accept our sincere condolences.
