I knew Linus only briefly, and only in the context of Yale A cappella alumni events, yet his impact on my life was notable. His support of organizations that changed my life, mainly the Doox and the Whiffenpoofs, was profound and appreciated by every member. As we navigated opening up these groups to people of all genders, Linus was the the voice of reconciliation that enabled the active groups and their alumni to remain engaged and supportive of each other. My experience in the Whiffenpoofs and the experiences of future members were made better by Linus’s involvement and leadership. He will be deeply missed.

We are all "unique," but Linus was truely "unforgettable." I will never "sing with Yale again" or attend any class of '58 festivity without hearing his voice in song or satire or beholding his countenance, and the slight smile that would curl after the deadpan "straight man" expression had dissipated. Love to Margaret and the whole family and to YAC! Tom Bauer '58

While emailing with Allan and Barbara Newton I learned that Linus had died. I send my condolences to you and your family. I met Linus at Camp Pinnacle in the 1940's. I recall participating with him in camp activities over a number of years, perhaps six or seven in total. In 1948, Linus and I co-starred in a production of "Box and Cox" at the Pinnacle Theater. While it never went to Broadway I recall having a good deal of fun with the play. I have a picture of us on my computer sitting on the stage in costume which I would be glad to share with you if you so desire. You won't have any trouble identifying Linus. Best wishes, Richard "Chuck" Woodhouse, Milford, MA.

Quite a lot, as I valued his friendship very highly, and we've kept in informal if all sporadic contact, since we both 'did our time' together beginning at Yale, and continuing in Norfolk; where my wife and I were lucky to enjoy, "Dependent's Day", at sea on the U.S.S. Randolph. Margaret will be getting my note of condolence following the 'send' of they emailing, as it's the first I heard of his passing. Wm. Reimann, Y'57.
