LISA CUSHING Obituary

CUSHING, Lisa A. 52 years old of Hanson, MA, passed peacefully, surrounded by family at the Hospice House of Hingham, Sunday, November 10, 2013. Lisa fought a courageous battle against leukemia for the past 14 months with faith and determination. She had the support of her loving family and friends right by her side every step of the way. Lisa will be remembered for her vivacious laugh, charming smile, compassion, spirited personality, and dedication to all animals especially her beloved animals, Aine, Simba, Missy-Moo and Shadow. Lisa was born in Brighton, MA and grew up in Belmont. She attended Belmont schools and went on to receive a degree in Radiologic Technology. She was employed as a radiologic technician for the past 30 years, of which her most recent employer had been at Compass Medical in E. Bridgewater, MA. Lisa spent the last 15 years at Lakeside Road in Hanson, living her dream life on a lake, nestled around pines which surrounded her charming country home. As a child growing up, Lisa spent her summers at the family cottage at Plum Island, where the ocean was her first love. Lisa will be remembered for her many talents and interests, of which she had many but mostly for her knitting and crocheting classes which she held amongst her many friends. Lisa was the daughter of Alfred D. and Louise J. Salvato (both deceased). She leaves her husband of 15 years, William T. Cushing Jr., her step-sons, William and Brian, her siblings, Linda Gould and husband Steve, Stephen Salvato (pre-deceased) and wife Jackie, Christine Callahan and husband David, Alfred G. Salvato and wife Karen. She also leaves nieces and nephews, Christopher and Andrew Salvato, Stephanie Gould, Jeffrey, Kevin, and Allison Callahan, great-nephews Alex and Ben Salvato, and great-niece Annalisia Salvato. She also leaves many aunts, uncles, and cousins. I am a patient of Compass Medical where Lisa worked and just learned of her passing this morning. I am very sorry for her family, friends and I just wanted to say that I loved seeing her down at her job, she always made me laugh and we shared some sad stories as well. She will be missed by many and there is a shining light up above now.
