One 'yarn' of merit. Visiting the Donnolly Camp in NH one summer weekend so many years ago, Mark and I decided fishing was a good idea. I had always fished York's Long Sands. At that point in time you walked on the beach and fished...no license required...now the rest of the story...
Mark and I stop at the corner store for a beverage of choice and a boat license to fish, so I thought. I'm excited as I buy the beverage and Mark buys the license. We meet Bril's(I believe as memory is a bit clouded) at the lake and we three stooges head to the deep blue waters....45 minutes into the day, NH's version of Barney Phyffe from Andy of Mayberry approaches the boat...He asks for licences...Bril's shows his hat with the attached license...Mark pulls his from his shorts...I proudly tell Barney that Mark has the boat license. What, he says....You need individual licenses. I look at Mark and he gave me that 'grin with shoulders elevated. $45.00 later, Barney departs and Mark's comment....Mule, That has never happened before...I comment....of course not, I said... because you have a license...We laughed all day on the lake...At my inexperience and actually meeting Barney Phyffe in person.
All the yarns which Mark touched us with over the years will bring back smiles today at the VFW. And a glisten or two to the corner of our eyes...Miss you Bro....Phil

To the Lyons family with love and sympathy,
I'm so sorry to hear of Marks passing, he was a thoughtful, warm, funny, kind, man.His smile was wonderful, it could light up all of Cambridge.I enjoyed listening to his storiesand hearing his laugh.one of the things that I remember is Barry use to say Mark was a brilliant cook, that he could make a gourmet meal out of condiments and leftovers! I never got the chance to try one of his meals but no doubt this is true.
Those we love can never be more than a thought away for as long as there's a memory they live in our hearts to stay.
