Joe, Kevin, Peggy, Betty and family. I am very sorry to hear of your mother's passing. I found out too late to attend her services so I wanted to send this note. I remember as a teenager hanging out at your house on rainy nights and she would never care no matter how many of us were there.

I know this is a sad time but just focus on all the good in her life and then realize that she is now with your father.
Mary will be missed by all who knew her.

To the Lally family,
With deepest sympathies & condolences from Kay Flynn & family. My mother & I were on a cruise last week & just found out about your mother's passing. We are sorry to have missed the services. She was a great lady, always had lots of fun with her bowling & at our banquets. She could handle that cane of her's with the best of them.

TO THE LALLY FAMILY:

I AM TRULY SADDENED TO HEAR FROM GEORGE FRIDAY NITE THAT MARY HAD PASSED AWAY.

I HAVE KNOWN FOR SOME TIME THAT I WOULD EXPRIENCE A FINAL SADNESS WHEN THE LAST OF THE PARENTS OF MY LONGEST FRIENDS PASSED AWAY.

GEORGE AND YOU HAVE BEEN BLESSED TO HAVE HAD SUCH A LOVING MOTHER LIVE SO LONG AND BE SO VIBRANT IN YOUR LIVES AND THE LIVES OF YOUR KIDS AND GRANDKIDS.

I FONDLY REMEMBER SITTING ON THE STEPS OF YOUR HOME ON FIFTH ST WITH GEORGE AND OUR BASEBALL CARDS WHEN WE WERE IN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL AT THE GATEY.

OTHER THAN FRAN , MARY LALLY AND KATE O'BRIEN WERE THE ONLY TWO MOTHERS WHO ACTUALLY COULD GET ME TO BEHAVE .

I REMEMBER HER AT MASS WHEN GEORGE AND I WERE ALTAR BOYS. I REMEMBER THE RELIGIOUS STATUES AND PICTURES IN YOUR HOME AND YOUR GRANDMOTHER'S DOWNSTAIRS.

I CLEARLY REMEMBER THE LAST TIME THAT I SAW HER AT THE PARADE IN 2006. WHAT I WONDERFUL FEELING I HAD AT THAT MOMENT... MARY LALLY , THE MATRIARCH OF OUR CHILDHOOD NEIGHBORHOOD.

UNFORTUNATELEY , AS I EXPLAINED TO GEORGE YESTERDAY ON THE PHONE , I WILL BE UNAVAILABLE TO ATTEND THE WAKE AND FUNERAL DUE TO A COMMITTMENT IN WASH DC THE NEXT 3 DAYS. I AM SORRY AND PLEASE ACCEPT MY HEARTFELT CONDOLENCES .

I HAVE SHED SOME TEARS AS I SEND YOU MY PRAYERS AND LASTING RESPECT FOR THE PASSING OF THE LAST OF THE GREATEST GENERATION WHO LIVED IN OUR NEIGHBORHOOD.

SINCERELY ,
PAUL DUMAS
