I am sorry to say that I am just now learning of the passing of dear Maura and would have surely attended her memorial services. She was one of my mother's closest cousins and always a very faithful visitor to my home in Quincy where she shared her warmth, kindness and all the latest family news over a warm cup of tea! She was a gem and will be missed by all.

On behalf of all the students who were lucky enough to have Mrs. Reynolds as their 2nd grade teacher in 1969-70 and then doubly lucky to have her move up to 3rd grade with us in 1970-71, everyone loved her. She wasn't just some teacher who taught out of a book, she made you think and use your mind. She truly cared about her students and she impacted their lives in a positive way like no other. I and so many others were so lucky to have attended the Lyons School in Randolph at this time. And I know for a fact that there are a lot of successful 53 year olds out there right now who might not have been had it not have been for her guidance. Thank you for caring and thank you for being you.
One of many who you helped more than you probably ever knew.

Mrs. Ahern was one of my all-time favorite teachers. She made me feel joyful about learning and like a valued member of our 4th-grade classroom community. She was always kind and warm, and I can only hope my son encounters teachers like her as he begins his school journey. My condolences to her family: she was loved dearly by her students.

To the Reynolds-Ahern Family,
Your beloved Maura made an impact on me for my entire life. She was my second grade teacher at the C. G. Devine School from 1963 through 1964. Mrs. Reynolds made the transition from the 1st grade to the 2nd grade so much easier for a little girl who had lost her mother the previous year. Her warmth, kindness, and compassion has never been forgotten and I'm sure hundreds of other students felt the same way.She was surely a gem and will be sorely missed. I will miss you Aunt Maura. Thank you for being there for me in my life because my grandmother Janet sadly couldn't be. You were like a grandmother to me. Rest in peace. I love you forever and always.
