Mike-

Found a picture of you today. It made me smile! And then I realized it has been 13 years since I posted here in remembrance of you. A lot has changed since you've been gone. I came across a video on my phone a little bit ago and it hit me hard in the gut and brought me to tears because of how true it is. The quote goes something like "I now have to remember you, for longer than I got to know you"......just wanted you to know that I was thinking of you bud!!

I am very sorry for your loss. I wanted to tell you that Mr. Brandt had such an impact on my son Peter LeBlanc when he taught at St Thomas. Peter told me frequently what an amazing person he was. He was in his words the greatest teacher at St Thomas. He taught my son so much about life.

Prayers to your family at the loss of Mike. I was close to him when he was in Catholic teen leadership while in high school in Maine. I was the Director of Youth Ministry and known to Mike and friends as Mother Jeanne. I will never forget this extraordinary young man. I send the YM prayer he knew: "May the blessing of God be upon you, the blessing of the Father and the Son. And may the Spirit of God, the Spirit of Love be with you all your days."..and into eternity.

I am so sorry to learn of Mike's death. So many great memories of him riding to MDCCY meetings with Gary and I. With Mike in the van, we always discussed deep subjects, played pranks and enjoyed much laughter. It was so awesome to see so many of his friends witness his Confirmation at St. Mary's with RJ. My deepest sympathies are with his family. You are all in my prayers.

My favorite memories from Houlton High School were from my participation in Drama Club in 1996, and in particular, memories of all the fun I had with Mike. He was a dynamic and energetic club member, always coming up with new ways to take the skit to the next level of funny. I always remember Mike as being intelligent, inspirational and full of joy. His time here with us on this earth, while so very short, was a gift to each and every person and heart he touched. I'm thinking of you all during this time.

Mrs. Brandt-
I can't even remember the number of times that we were all together those two years i spent in Houlton. Mike, Josh, and Jeremy and I would drive around Houlton shooting the breeze laughing and carrying on. He would always smile, no matter what was going on. Even when we all had to say goodbye after ministry events. I even found pictures of us from our last Convention in Portland out in the garage. I still remember him as Big Mike with that long curly hair and his glasses from so many years ago. It's amazing how one person can make such an impact on someone else's life just by being a friend. I am truely better for having known Mike and he will always be remembered.

Caralee and Katie, our prayers are with all at this time. Michael was well beyond his years and hip. I met Michael 11 years ago, he was a friend of my husband and they shared a love of God. I would tell Ron each time Mike came home for a visit that he was going to tell us he was going to become a priest.. the last time he came home in Houlton he brought Kate to introduce to us.lol Now Michael is an angel. We love you Michael.
