MICHAEL PURNELL Obituary

PURNELL, Michael Greatly Loved Age 45, of Canton passed away suddenly yet peacefully on January 27, 2018. Mike was born in Boston but was raised in California before moving back to Boston in 1996. Mike worked for Harpoon Brewery for 20 years where he met some of his closest friends who were like family. He married his wife Jane in 2005 and they settled in Canton where they started a family. He was an avid Boston sports fan but what was most important to Mike was his family. Mike will always be remembered for his personality that would always light up a room. Mike is survived by his beloved wife Jane Purnell (Ladow) of Canton and their two children Piersson M. Purnell and Anna J. Purnell both of Canton. Mike is also survived by his parents Beverly Ann and Philip M. Purnell of Florida. Also, survived by his sister Christine Purnell of California and brother Philip Purnell of Oregon. In addition, Mike leaves behind his loving uncles, aunts and many cousins along with cherished nieces and nephews. Michael's uncle, Father Harold Birkenhead, of Weymouth's Holy Nativity Church, will lead Michael's family and close friends in prayer and celebrate his wonderful but short life. Services for Mike will be private for his family and friends and are in the care of C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home located in Weymouth. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Michael to his two children, Piersson and Anna, to a trust fund at Harbor One Bank at PO Box 720 in Brockton, MA in an account named "Purnell Children's Donation Fund". My dearest brother Michael, tomorrow will be the 3rd anniversary of your passing. I don't know how many times I've found and continue to find you on my mind or talking about you. Dearest Michael,
Tomorrow will mark the 2 year anniversary of your passing and just as if it were yesterday, the pain and shock of losing my baby brother is still the same for me just as I know it is for mom, dad, and your children. Words will never be able to express how much you are thought of, loved and missed every single day. A day doesn't go by that I don't think and or talk about you. I love and miss you so very much. But know you're up in Heaven with Nana, Grandpa, Grandma and Grandpa Tighe watching over us and that one day you and I will together again helps me to get through the loss.

In loving memory of a wonderful brother. I just can't believe it's been one year since you passed away and went up to Heaven. I'm still having a difficult time excepting that you're no longer here. But then I realize you're now up above with Nana and Grandpa B, Grandma and Grandpa T, Uncle Denny, Uncle Tony, and my grandson Christian watching over us keeping us safe. I miss you so much! I couldn't have wanted or needed a better brother. I know one day we'll see each other again. I love you so very much Michael!

My prayers are with Michael, his wife, children and to my aunt Bev and Uncle Skipper, Christine and Phillip also to my other family members. I can't make it home for his service but Michaels memory is deep in my heart. The past few days I've thought of us cousins playing on the rocks by the house and the fun times it was when uncle Harold would make us all laugh to tears with funny stories . I miss you all and the times but the memory of Michael with be cherished in my heart forever.

I am just envisioning Mike looking at me with his arms out, a smirk on his lips and a smile in his eyes \_()_/ That expression would always bring me a big smile, for almost 20 years. That, along with his huge heart. I am staggered by the news of his passing and it literally puts a vice of sorrow in my chest, in my throat. Jane, Beverly, Skip, Christine, Phil, I send you my deepest sympathies and wish you all the strength in the world and the power to one day reflect with more laughter than tears.
