I shall miss Niki's joy in all things knitting as well as her warmth and humor. We agreed that there could never be enough yarn and time to knit it.

To be beautiful is luck but the ability to shine from within is a gift from Heaven. Niki truly had that gift. Her smile had the warm glow of the sun at the Cape and her humor and laughter lifted your soul. Everything Niki did was Top Shelf, from throwing a bachelorette party for Heidi to knitting something for Jesse, Harry or Georgia. One of the best things about the Holidays was having Niki there or any other family gathering. Heidi, thank you for bringing Niki to our family, we received two gifts in one. Niki will always be missed by us but her memory will always be in our hearts.Niki, thank you for the joy of sharing your life with us. To Faye, Jack, Heidi,Gregory, Harry and Georgia, Chuck, Janet and Jesse, our love and deepest sympathy.

I posted this on the Big Apple Knitters Guild mailing list tonight:
Some of you may remember a former BAKG member, Niki Bronstein. Niki, who was originally from Boston, moved back there several years ago. A talented knitter and designer, Niki realized her lifelong dream and bought the knitting shop "Woolcott and Company" in Cambridge, adjacent to the campus of Harvard University and the JFK School of Government.
On Sunday, November 12, Niki passed away after losing her battle to try to recover from a brain tumor.
On a personal note, I met Niki when we both studied at FIT with Arnetta Kenney. Before I retired I managed to extend some of my business trips to Boston to spend time with Niki, and enhance my stash with amazing purchases from her shop. My last trip was a weekend workshop which Niki's shop hosted with our own dear Lily Chin.
The loss of Niki Bronstein, a talented knitter and designer with a generous spirit, is a real loss to the knitting community.
My heartfelt condolences to Niki's family and friends.
With great sadness,
Raye Schwartz

I can't tell you how lucky I feel having seen Niki this summer. It was my last chance to see her and it will remain forever in my heart.
I believe she had a purpose in the last year and she fulfilled it. The love and support she had for her family gave her the strength to overcome many difficult hardships. Her determination was phenomenal and I know one of her main purposes was to help us look towards the other side and bring it closer, Niki knew it was jam packed full of continuance and I feel that now from her. She has so much love......, I know once the pain from her crossing subsides some, that everyone will feel that love from her ever so deeply. Her spirit is just too strong, (watch your tootsies while you sleep, she is liable to come and tickle them when you least expect it). Niki has not only been such a great sister for Heidi, Chuck and Janet but also a great sister for my brother Gregory, and a fabulous aunt to Harry, Georgia and Jesse. I thank her for that. I feel truly related and feel like I had a sister that unfortunately I didn't get the time to really know like I would have liked. Niki, we did have many great Christmas's though, and they will be in my memory always. Thanks for your BEING. I send my love to the whole family, especially to Faye and wish I could be there with all of you, my deepest condolences.

Dear Bronstein Family,
We feel anything we write at this time will be futile. The tragic news of Nikkis death has left us with such a sense of loss. Nikki was such a vital personality, the type of person one met for the first time and realised she was genuinely interested in knowing about that person. Always with a humorous glint in her sparkling eyes, she entered a room with that oh so Nikki flair and joie de vivre. Nikki knew how to get the party started!!
We will miss Nikki terribly, but will always be grateful for the
for the honor of knowing such a generous and rich personality!!!
Love,
John & Ghy

My heart is broken at the passing of my dear friend, Niki and for the heartache her family is feeling. Words seem like such awkward, clumsy things during these times and it’s so hard to express the deep love and admiration so many people had for Niki.
I will miss my dear friend and you all will be in my prayers.

Dearest Niki,
I will always remember you. You lit up the room and always made people laugh. You are a very special person. I remember when you came to our house on Christmas Eve for the first time and you had all these beautiful packages. After that year, you and I started to see who could make the prettier packages. You won there. I took out the santa you gave me and will always cherish it and think of you. We will miss you very much. Eric only met you once, but he will miss you as well!!

My darling Faye,
You gave your beloved Niki everything a mother could give and more. You give that way to all of us who are lucky to be your friend. And like you, your Niki enriched all her friends with her most special joie de vivre. And now immeasurable sadness. I loved your Niki. I love you.

My friend Niki was the best friend anyone could ever ask for, was light-years ahead of everyone else in intelligence, could make me HOWL with laughter, was generous to a fault, could make dinner/lunch whatever start out on the wrong foot because she was always a half hour late (we were laughing soon thereafter), loved music & entertainment--we could (& did) spend hours at a piano bar, we exchanged books, looked at art, talked about everything, laughed & cried together. You still mean the
world to me, Niks, I will miss you forever...with much love and much sadness, Linda Rittenhouse
