Almost no one in his life will know who I am, but I was his classmate through four years at JU, was in his first wedding, helped him through OCS (we were in the same platoon), and went through TBS and Fort Sill together. Paul and I did not always see things the same way. We were so different in many ways. He even counseled against marrying my wife (of 33 years now). But he did so out of friendship and brotherhood and I appreciated his candor. He was bold and he lived life boldly. I was shocked to see that he was lost to us so young (I found out a few days ago). Tara, my wife and I sincerely share in the grief of your loss and have only the best wishes for you and your young family. Paul was a good man. God Bless. Harold C. Bass, Col USMC (ret)

There is only one Paul Roche. Amazing accomplishments, amazing person, amazing class. He arranged for a military honor guard for my father's funeral in 2015. Taking that responsibility off of my families shoulders was what he wanted to do. They are both Marines. If you were Paul's friend he was unfailingly loyal. That didn't change, even if you hadn't seen each other for years or decades. To Paul's family, please accept my condolences and know that Paul is in my prayers and memories.
