PAUL VIELKIND Obituary

VIELKIND, PAUL A. 84, of Fort Lauderdale, Florida and Lakeville, Massachusetts, formerly of Randolph, Massachusetts, died peacefully following a one year courageous battle with melanoma. Born in Troy, New York on August 5, 1931, the son of Joseph and Mae (nee Cooney) Vielkind. Raised and educated in Troy, Paul graduated from LaSalle Institute, where he was named class Valedictorian. He furthered his education at Russel Sage College majoring in accounting. Paul was inducted into the United States Naval Reserves and served five years. Paul joined the firm of Peat, Marwick and Mitchell Company, where he worked for ten years, then moved to Massachusetts. Before his retirement, he was Chief Financial Officer for Carney Hospital in Boston for 35 years. A member of the Massachusetts Hospital Association and served on the Board of Directors at Labouré Junior College in Milton, Massachusetts. Both he and his wife enjoyed spending time in their homes in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and Lakeville, Massachusetts. They were communicants at St. Mary's Church in Randolph, St. Martha and Mary Church in Lakeville and Assumption Catholic Church in Pompano Beach. Survived by his beloved wife of 65 years Louise (nee McGinnis) Vielkind, loving children, David (Barbara) Vielkind, Cindy (Jim) Simmons and Sue Rizzo, six adored grandchildren, Nicole, Jim, Joe, Karen, John, Patrick, two great grandchildren, Landon and Maddox. His sister, Rosemary Margraf passed away this past March. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 29, 2016 from 4-7 PM in the Dahlborg-MacNevin Funeral Home, 280 Bedford St., LAKEVILLE, MA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, June 30, 2016 at 11:00 AM in Sts Martha and Mary Church in Lakeville, MA followed by burial at Blue Hills Cemetery, Braintree, MA. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be given to Trustbridge Hospice, 550 W. Cypress Creek Road, Ft. Lauderdale, FL. Arizona and I want to give our deepest condolences to you Sue and Louise and Cindy. Paul was such a lovely sweet man..always a twinkle in his eyes and smile. Not only will YOU ALL sorely miss him but all your friends who shared joyful celebrations with him leaving us with happy memories.
