Fred,Pete,Chuck, and Katrina, Sorry Just heard about your dad from my friend andy and uncle charlie's obituary in yesterday's globe....Some of the best years of my life was working for your dad and uncle during my racing heyday's with Fred, Peter, Frankie and even chucky riding along with deliveries to all John Smerlas and Son's Customers in the Brookline Newton area's.....
Ironic both the two of the kindest and best friends one could have died with-in a month of each other....I'm sure their both together in heaven....as they were together on earth......

Mr. Smerlas was the most wonderful fellow. Last time we spoke we had such a great conversation. He and Mrs Smerlas raised three of the best guys going. God bless you Mr Smerlas. I will never forget how you always had a kind word for me. Godspeed.

My deepest condolences to the Smerlas family. Mr. Smerlas was always very kind and welcoming whenever we visited Fred and Kris. Even though we did not know each other well, he always made a point of asking about our family and always took time to engage in conversation whenever we saw him. He was truly a kind wonderful man and will definately be missed.

Fred, So sorry for your loss. My dad passed on this past Christmas eve. He played basketball with your dad and uncle on the 1941 Rindge Tech team. My sincere sympathy to you and yours.

I am so sorry about Uncle Peter. I love you so much and feel so sorry. You mean the world to me, and my heart is very heavy for you and your family. Uncle Peter was a very sweet man with a big heart.
