Dear Beth,
I cannot believe that Peter has died - have just seen his obituary on my computer.
We all had such fun together in Francestown and he was a
darling little boy back in the 1940's and a wonderful young
man.
My love to you and your family.

Dear Beth and family: Peter was a prince. He was such an amazing gentleman -- kind, generous, courteous and courtly, warm and funny. It was my honor to know him. Sending you my love.

To Beth and the entire Steffian Family: Words cannot express the saddness that Bonita and I feel at the passing of Peter, foldly known to his grandchildren as "GEEZER." We shared so much during our NCARB careers, especially during the year of Peter's presidency as we traveled together, ate together, shared our families together, and became friends for a lifetime. No one I know loved life more than Peter, it blossumed forth in every little quip that he uttered. His favorite - "You can tell your friends, but not much" - I assume it was his favorite because he used it on me a lot. Peter truly saw the world through rose colored glasses, sometimes he would even put a pair on just to make you laugh. I loved him like a brother, and will miss him like a brother as well.

My condolences go to Peter's family, words cannot express the value he added to so many lives. I cannot remember one time when he did not step up and offer assistance to professionals and students alike. His accomplishments are many and will serve many whom will not have the pleasure of knowing him; what a wonderful legacy.

My prayers go out to Peter's family. I always enjoyed the times we served on NCARB committees together. He was always able to put issues in perspective and to help garner consensus within the group. We will all miss his love for life and architecture.

Peter was a steady hand working with the community to build community Health Centets in Mass. His love of architecture and history inspired many docents with Boston by Foot. Rest in peace dear friend.

To Beth and family; thank you for sharing Peter with the Boston Architectural College. His energy and commitment to the BAC is unmatched. His humor, his wisdom and his patience made him a joy to know and a joy to work with.
I'm sad at his passing. I'll miss him. I'll miss his wisdom. I take solace in an old hebrew expression: "Do not in grief say ' he is no more' but live in thankfulness that he was"

I am heartbroken at the passing of such an outstanding man. Peter was that rare soul who could reach beyond any obstacle to discover the strength and joy and value in everyone he met. I know because I am a stronger, happier and enriched person for having known him.

Remembering fondly and, now sadly, his steadfast dedication to all the students at the Boston Architectural College. He was a kind and thoughtful presence there for so many years . . . to be missed but never forgotten.

Peter's puckish humor, oddball interests, and generosity of spirit have been companions of mine for 40 plus years, both at work and at play. Whether it was arranging for an ill-fated load of horse manure from Tony Bradley's stables or his delight at finding some quirky antique of inestimable value that I simply had to buy, he has been a treasured companion. We all will miss him tremendously. Our hearts hurt at this loss, and our thoughts are with Beth, the children and grandchildren.
