A delightful, anything´s possible soul. Such light in his eyes when describing another idea. Still can´t believe he no longer walks this earth. Imagining him among gardens and orchards in heaven.

Michael and I are saddened to hear about the passing of Richard. We first met him 36 years ago when he became one of my very first tai chi students in Nashua. Tai chi was practically unknown then and he came to the park with a co-worker from Digital. When the weather got too cold, we moved to my basement. The tai chi form I teach is demanding and takes a year to learn; most starters quit. Richard had discipline and perseverance. But what made him most memorable to me was that he was the very first one to finish the form. I now have students & grand-students teaching in 4 states, and we have a national organization that formed 20 years ago. You might say it all started with Richard, a kind, intelligent, and gentle man. Our condolences to his family and friends. Diane Hoxmeier Rabinowitz 714/17

To the man who had confidence in me. Who told me I could pick myself "up by my bootstraps" even in foreign territory. Who believed in me, and in one of the toughest times of my life, helped me to not be afraid. Trusting Jesus has rescued you, and will pour peace over all who are grieving your loss. Not that you can read or hear this...but knowing others will.

Richard left an extraordinary legacy of computer development over fifty years in the field. Beginning with his work on the original, highly-secret development of the ethernet, originally for military purposes, computer typesetting for newspapers, and digital imaging for medical and scientific use.He was ahead by ten years, always. He had a beautiful mind and a very private heart.
