RICHARD NARDONE Obituary

NARDONE, Richard Died peacefully at the age of 90 on Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at Concord Hospital, Concord, NH. Born and raised in Needham, spent his final years living in NH, most recently in the town of Concord. Richard was born on June 27th, 1927 in Needham, MA to Orazio Nardone of Atina, Italy and Elizabeth "Bessie" (Volante) Nardone of Newton, MA. His Italian heritage was very important to him, and he shared his love of Italian cuisine and culture with his family. He loved his famiy and friends, was very caring, and worked hard to maintain relationships with those important to him. Richard loved to tell stories of his youth, in which he helped raise goats and learned to garden on the family farm, a tradition he continued throughout his life. His hobbies included carpentry, landscaping and antiquing, and he brought an aesthetic beauty and creativity to his home and gardens. One of his favorite places was a remote lake house on Lake Armington in Piermont, NH which he purchased as a way to spend time with his family and brought him great joy. Richard had a great sense of humor, and often had a twinkle in his eye. Richard was a Word War II Army veteran. He was stationed in both the US and Europe. Prior to his retirement he worked as a general contractor and operated heavy equipment. Richard is survived by his loving wife Margaret (Deojay) Nardone of Concord, NH, his children Gail Sammarco and spouse Peter of Westford, MA, David Nardone and his spouse Sirima Munphet of Bangkok, Thailand, Kenneth Nardone and spouse Nancy Nardone of Bennington, VT, and Joyce Willette and spouse Eugene Willette of Sudbury, MA, his daughter-in-law Karen Nardone of Bellingham, MA and his grandchildren Sunisa Manning and spouse Nathaniel Manning, Michael, Victoria, Anthony, Zoe, Katianna, William, Daniel, Isabella and Julia. He is further survived by his stepchildren Ken Hebert, Renee Myers and Bill Lunderville. Richard is predeceased by his eldest son Gary who died February 21, 2017 and his siblings Alfred, Genevieve, June, Mira and Oreste. Funeral from the George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home, 1305 Highland Avenue, NEEDHAM, Friday at 10:30 a.m. Followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Joseph's Church, Needham at 11:30. Relatives and friends kindly invited.
