We haven't seen Bob for many years - we now live in Colorado - but we loved Bob and he was an enormous help and support to Nils when he was running for, and elected to, the Massachusetts House of Representatives. That was long ago in the late 60s and 70s. When our daughters were little we would come to Harmony Farm and visit Josephine, the giant pig. We brought her produce from Calareso's farm stand in Reading. One time we gave Josephine a pineapple, which she chomped in one bite with the fronds sticking out of her mouth. We deemed that "instant pineapple juice" and whenever manners weren't appropriate, Josephine's name was mentioned. We are very sorry that Bob suffered toward the end of his life. We send our love and condolences to the family. Linda and Nils Nordberg

I consider myself so lucky to have been friends with Bob Downing. Everything written about Bob is so accurate. Bob, and beautiful Lisa, had a love story like no other (which also included Holly). Bob always made you feel special and was a joy to be around. Bob also made the most beautiful hearth fires on Easter Mornings after Sunrise Service which I will never forget. Rest in Peace My Friend.
