ROBERT EMMITT DRUMMEY Sr.

1941 - 2024

DRUMMEY, Robert Emmitt Sr. Left this world on April 17, 2024, from the loving arms of his children to return to the loving arms of his wife, who predeceased him, on September 6, 2015. Robert was born in Norwood, MA, to the late James and Gertrude (Turner) Drummey, on August 4, 1941 and was a graduate of Norwood High School, class of 1960. He and his wife, Diana (Weir) were married at Holy Name Church in West Roxbury on May 7, 1966 and made Foxborough their home since 1972. During the 1970s, Robert was a firefighter for the Town of Mansfield. After leaving the fire department, Robert worked for several years in the sales of industrial machine tools, owning his own business for many of those years. He retired as a case worker from the Suffolk County Sheriff's department in 2017. He enjoyed spending time with his loving family, including his large extended family. He was a longtime member of Alcoholics Anonymous with over fifty years of service to the program, providing a beacon of hope to those struggling with addiction. Beloved father of Dawn Hobill and her husband, Dale, Robert Drummey, Jr. and his wife, Norma, all of Upton, MA. Loving grandfather of Nickolas Hobill and his wife, Krystina, Hannah Hobill Thayer and her husband, Thomas and Emily and Jason Drummey. Devoted great-grandfather of Audrey Hobill. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary's Church, 58 Carpenter St., Foxborough, on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, at 10 AM.
