ROBERT LEONARD IRONS

IRONS, Robert Leonard Of Norwood, passed away on June 5, 2022 at the age of 90. Beloved husband of 58 years to Janet Frances (Marcin) Irons. Devoted father of Michael F. Irons and his wife Ann of Holliston, Stephen J. Irons and his wife Annmarie of Scituate, Richard M. Irons and his wife Ellen of Holliston and Robert L. Irons and his wife Kerry of Arlington. Father in spirit to Carol Murray of GA. Brother of Mary Irons of W. Roxbury and the late Francis Irons. Cherished grandfather of Katherine, Kelly, Timothy, Kiernan, Brendan, Jake, Kaitlyn, Kiera and Gryffin. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Robert was a 30 year employee for the Town of Dedham School Dept., retiring as Principle of the Oakdale School. He was a faithful Boston Latin graduate and a diehard Boston College and Red Sox Fan. Robert was a U.S. Army Korean War veteran and served his country honorably defending Texas. Funeral from the Kraw-Kornack Funeral Home, 1248 Washington St., NORWOOD, Thursday, June 9, 2022 at 10am, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11am at St. Catherine of Siena Church, Norwood. Visiting Hours will be held on Wednesday, June 8, 2022 from 4-8pm. A Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, June 9, 2022, 2pm at Mt. Auburn Cemetery, Cambridge, MA.
