Be it football, basketball, golf, tennis and of course his passion for baseball, which of course he truly excelled at the first time he stepped on the diamond. It was his love for playing and competing that led to his earning first team All Scholastic Honors in 1954 and his induction into the English High School Hall of Fame and being selected to their All-Century Team. Bob was also inducted into the Boston Park League Hall of Fame. He worked at the Boston Edison Company and was a 37 year member of local 369. We would like to extend our deepest gratitude to the doctors, nurses, patient care technicians and therapists at the Beth Israel Hospital Rosenberg Building. The members of the MICU 7B and CC-6 for their care and compassion that they showed to Bob and our family. Power Family,
What a great man your Dad was!! I have the fondest memories of Mr. Power coaching Babe Ruth. He was such a positive guy, always encouraging and call everyone on the planet "Babe".

I'll never forget the impact he had on me. In fact, many years ago as I was going to coach my first baseball game, I thought back to how Mr. Power handled himself. I also started calling all the kids "Babe". My son asked me why I was doing that and I told him about Mr. Power.

What a true gem your Dad was!!

God Bless,

Tim Downing

One of the nicest guys you would ever want to meet. A sincere pleasure to know Bob. I can attest to be one that knew him and played baseball along side him that he didn't steal many bases, but boy could he hit. One of the best to play in the Boston Park League. A Hall of Famer as a player and a person. God bless his beautiful family.
Sincerely,
Walt Ed Mortimer

To the Powers Family,My deepest sympathies. Your Dad was one of the finest men I have ever known. Always positive. Always cheerful. Always encouraging. Always teaching you a lesson, whether you realized it then or later. I still recall 30 years later some of the "pearls" we shared when he was our baseball coach. He wouldn't allow us to even think of how good our skills were as individuals or how less devleloped other s were. We were a team. A "band of brothers" that won or lost together. May he rest peacefully with your mother with whom he now shares eternal life and may you all be comforted with stories and loving memories (cigar and all!)
