Dear Jeff and Susan,
The weather would not let me get to church for your fathers service last week. I met you Susan when I brought a prayer shawl from the church for your Mother when she was in the Health Center. Two of the nicest people I have ever known. After we lost your wonderful Mom I used to kid your Dad that he was my best boyfriend. He would laugh. You probably don't remember me, but you would know I was kidding with him, but he was that special. I have never seen such beautiful love and devotion as he gave to your Mom every day it was really something to behold. I think just everyone loved Roger, he always had a smile and a kind word. The ones who had the pleasure of knowing him all these years have such wonderful memories to hold in their hearts. It is always so hard to say good bye.My prayers and sympathy are with you during this difficult time. How lucky I was to know him. Donna

We were so disappointed to hear about Great Uncle Roger's passing. As the Patriarch of the Talmadge family and a friend, he will be greatly missed.

I understand however that he went Gracefully and willingly accepted the facts, which is very admirable and truly inspiring. It only added to his legacy as a True Legend of the family.

Uncle Roger had such a wonderful way with words and his writings were full of wit and humor. We have gotten much joy corresponding with him over the years.

My father Michael was very fond of Uncle Roger. I like to think that they are enjoying a nice game of golf in that "vast Country Club in the sky". And of course, it is comforting to know he is now holding hands with his beloved Naomi!

Our thoughts are with you all this day as you say goodbye to your father, friend and hero.

With Much Love,
Seth Talmadge and Family

I was the tenor soloist at Wellesley Hills for 27 years and Roger was the most wonderful person to know. He was a true gentleman in an age when there are so few left. He was a pillar of the church and will be greatly missed. May it comfort his family to know he shares in Christ's resurrection.

Your father was the kindest person I have ever known. He was always a thoughtful listener and a wise advisor. I am very grateful that I knew him.

Although I only new Roger in his later years, he was a true gentlemen. He could not have been nicer to my parents at North Hill, and I will always be grateful to him for his kindness towards my parents.
