Was cleaning out my BU. emails on Monday and came across Rons name and was wondering how Pat was doing and bumping into him at faculty meetings. Not bad for a couple of kids from Dorchester and Southie!

April 9, 2011

Pat,
I just heard about Ron, I'm so sorry. Michael and I were in Florida until 2 days ago. He was such a good guy. You and the kids are in our prayers, keep your chin up!

To the Conway Family: I first became a police officer in Boston in the early 70's. It was while I was in the BPD Academy that I first met Ron Conway. A beautiful and gentle human being, he offered his help in any way that was needed. He was my boss in Area 'A' and as many police officers who worked for Ron at that location, he was always on the side of the Police Officer. A very kind man, he was, the best boss I ever worked for. My wife Sheila and I wish the Conway Family well. Our deepest sympathy to you. Tom Kelley, Retired BPD, South Boston

To the Conway Family,
I'm very sorry for your loss. I met Ron years ago (late 80's) when he was taking courses. He asked me for computer assistance for a project he was working on for one of his classes that compiled information about people needing assistance. Although I only ran into him a few times after that, he was one of those people that has always stuck in my mind. He was so genuine and I enjoyed talking with him. He gave me some great advice that helped me at that time which I truly appreciated. I know he will be missed.

To the Conway Family, I am saddened by Ron's death and sad that I am just learning of it. Though we lost touch recently I enjoyed any time that I spent talking family, politics and crime. His opinions and experience were insightful and you always felt he was listening as well as talking. We were comrades. I will keep him and you in my prayers.

Pat,

My sincerest condolances on Ron's passing to you and your family. I just saw the article in todays globe. Being in Omaha I'm out of the loop and if only for my knee replacement last friday, I would not have know. The article was correct, a very easy man to talk to. I enjoyed running into him at Faculty meetings at BU and share a story or two mostly about the old days in Southie. I shall miss my colleague and friend.

Dear Pat, Ron Jr., Chris, Kara, Greg, and families together:

We are deeply saddended over the loss of your dad. He was a magnificent guy who listened to whom ever he was talking to, and took a genuine interest in them. One thing is certain from our talks, and that everything was peppered with his admiration and love for his wife, chidren, spouses, and grandchildren alike.
Tammy and I have very fond memories of your dad, and will miss him greatly. Thank you for allowing us to know him these past 20 years.

Love your friends,

Tam and Brian

Pat, it is with a heavy heart that I offer my condolences in the loss of your husband. He was truly a great friend and will be sorely missed. I hope you, your children and grandchildren will find comfort in the memories and know that you will remain in our thoughts and prayers.

My Memories of Ron Conway

A son, a brother, a husband and a dad,
Just a beginning, to describe this lad!
A doting grandpa, a cop's cop,
a friend,
Never forget where he came from
even till the end!
Loved to laugh, loved to learn,
and loved to teach,
Loved to tell a story,
and he loved to preach!
He would do anything he could
to help another
Whether a stranger, a friend,
or an officer brother.
One of the few you could call
a true stand-up guy
And those who knew him
know exactly why!
So proud of his family
and his heritage too,
Where he grew up
and his uniform of blue!
We will miss you
and the many stories you told,
But the memories of you
will never grow old!

May he Rest In Peace
