Ruth Gorgone Obituary

Of Brockton, formerly of Randolph, May 11, 2008, age 85, wife of the late Joseph J. Gorgone. Loving mother of Richard J. Gorgone of University Place, Washington, Rosalie J. Therrien of Brockton, Ruth E. Gibney of Brockton, Nancy M. Cyrus of Brockton and the late William G. Gorgone. Sister of the late Harry Cranshaw, Gordon Cranshaw, Sarah Cranshaw, Jessie Frappier, Albert Cranshaw & James Cranshaw. Also survived by 7 loving grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren & many nieces & nephews. Reposing at the Cartwright Funeral Home, 419 No. Main St. (Rt. 28) RANDOLPH, until 9:15AM on Thursday followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00AM in St. Mary Church, Randolph. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Wednesday 2-4 & 7-9PM. Burial in St. Mary Cemetery, Randolph. Should friends desire memorial contributions may be made to Children's Hospital, 300 Longwood Ave., Boston, MA 02115. Ruth was born in Brockton and raised in Saugus where she graduated from Saugus High School. Ruth married her husband Joseph J. Gorgone on June 11, 1939 and was happily married for 68 years. Joseph and Ruth had lived in Randolph for over 30 years before moving to Brockton in 1979. Her husband Joseph died on August 9, 2007 and one of his last words regarding Ruth was "I love that girl". One of Ruth's fondest memories was that every morning Joe whistled at her and called her beautiful.
