Dear Louise, Because I am unable to attend any of Sam's services, I extend my deepest sympathies to you and your family through this guestbook.
My siblings and I commissioned Sam to paint my Mother and Ken's house. We were thrilled with the painting as were My mother and Ken. I also enjoyed the meetings and discussions with Sam deciding on angles and what season the painting take place in...
I'm so happy that Sam will be with us whenever we visit 403 Main Street in West Townsend. The Gerken's proudly display their painting at the entry of the house.
Sam was a kind and gentle man and will be missed terribly. God Bless you, Louise.

It was my privilege to have known Sam for many years as a good friend and a fine artist. Several of his memorable Townsend scenes hang proudly on my walls. The beautiful Memorial Hall masterpiece that he created for the restoration fund was a magnificent gesture of his generosity. He loved his family, his friends and his town. We shall all miss him.
