STAFFORD EZZARD Obituary

EZZARD, Stafford Of Boston, passed away on January 28, 2025. He was born in Orlando, FL on May 20, 1946 to the late Charles Woodfin (Woody) and Agnes (Whittemore) Ezzard. Beloved husband of Patricia Marie (Sullivan) Ezzard. Devoted father of the late John Charles Ezzard. Cherished brother of Mary Jane Lohmeier. He had a great passion for music and fulfilled his calling as a music teacher, teaching high school band in East Hampton, Long Island, NY and K-5 elementary school music in Charlotte, NC, Orlando, FL and Boston, MA. He added his beautiful tenor voice to the Commonwealth Chorale for several years. In addition to the gift of music, he also had an incredible self-taught gift for building construction. He was Catholic and one of his favorite verses was Psalm 133:1 which reads, "Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!" He was a compassionate, caring soul who made even his son's friends feel like family and he was a faithful support to his wife, Trisha (Patricia). He had a fantastic attitude, laughing with family and friends even in his last moments. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend a Funeral Mass in St. Ignatius Church, 28 Commonwealth Ave., Chestnut Hill, on Saturday, March 8, at 10am. Followed by Burial in St. Mary Cemetery, Needham. For directions and guest book, please visit www.lehmanreen.com Lehman, Reen and McNamara 617-782-1000

I was a student at East Hampton High School and while in chorus he kept stopping us and said he could hear someone off key( I knew he heard my horrible singing voice) so I just mouthed the words and never sang out loud again!!! lol I had only hoped that one day I could sing for him in chorus again but in tune and on key!!! His wife painted a picture of our home which hung in my home til last week when my sister gifted it to Mark the owner of our former restaurant and is now Nick & Toni´s. We just found out of his passing and know his legacy will live on in stories yet to be told. Sending heartfelt condolences to his family and friends.

MARY JANE STUMPH-LOHMEIER
As Stafford´s sister I have known him longer than anyone else. We grew up together in Florida but then went our separate ways after school. I remember him as witty, caring, talented, trustworthy and devoted to his family. He never met a stranger (like our dad Woody) and enjoyed spinning tales of happenings of friends and family. We had many great visits with him and Trisha and John in later years mostly in FL after our parents passed. I loved him dearly and will miss our fun visits and phone calls so much. I look forward to our reunion in Glory!

Stafford was a good friend and fellow School of Music student at Florida State University in the 1960s. I spent a lot of time in the Kellum Hall room he shared with Fred Kagi. He was a delight. Blessings and peace to Tricia and the family.
