BARRE - Nicholas Seth Ward, age 30, of Barre, Vermont, passed away unexpectedly between the evening of March 7 and the early morning of March 8, 2026.
Nicholas was born on May 11, 1995, in Stony Brook, New York. He graduated from East Hampton High School.
Nicholas loved spending time with his children, enjoyed riding his motorcycle and doing anything outdoors, and he held a passion for cooking. His personality was truly one of a kind. He had a way of lighting up any room he walked into. He was outgoing, funny, and loud in the best way. As his best friend would say, he had one of the friendliest and funniest “you’re too much, but I love you” kind of personalities.
He will be remembered for his goofiness, the love he had for his children, and the energy he brought everywhere he went. He was the life of the party, even when there was no party. He meant so much to so many and made a lasting impact on the people around him, even in the shortest amounts of time.
He is survived by his father Steve Ward. His siblings and their partners: Matt and Carla Morgan, Nicholas and Marcela Ward, Rob and Jessica Kabisch, Chris, Samantha, Shawn, David, Antwon and Yaneik, Steven and Lori, Lucus and Audrey, Kaelyn, Sadie and Jon McCulloch, Alexis and Austin Ward-Anderson. His nieces and nephews to include Quincy King, Thomas and his wife Alex, as well as 16 nieces and nephews; 2 great nieces; 1 great-nephew.
He leaves behind; his son Rory, Rory’s mother, Maggie Bessette. His daughter Sky, and her mother, Summer Wallin as well as Logan Russell and their daughter Maya Russell.
Nicholas was predeceased by his mother, Louise Ward.
A special recognition to Matthew and Heidi Wallin; Toni and Jonathan Lawrence; and his best friend Eric Eastman for being a second family to him.
A green burial, where Nicholas will be returned to the earth as he loved the outdoors, will be held on March 21, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Vermont Forest Cemetery in Roxbury, Vermont, followed by a celebration of life.
