I pray to you every night that you are watching over me. I wish you were here to meet my crazy children and be apart of their lives. Just the other day Sadie asked me about a necklace in my car that I have always had hanging of a butterfly that said Best, "Who has the other necklace that says Friend?" Thank goodness Michael was in the car because tears immediately came running down my face and I couldn't form any words. Michael grabbed my hand and told Sadie that one of my really close cousins, Stephanie that passed away had it. She didn't know what to say besides "Please don't cry" after a few minutes I got myself together and was able to tell her a few stories about you. She started to laugh when I told her you LOVED singing "just keep swimming" and talking like a whale. As we pulled into the garage Sadie said, "I can see why you got so upset when I asked about the necklace, she seemed like a really cool girl to be friends with and even better that she was family. I hope I get to find my Stephanie one day so I can laugh as much as you guys did."
Steph I miss you more and more every day. I wish you were here for all the great moments happening so I could hear some funny comment from you or even just chat over a glass of wine. I love you so much. Please keep watching over my family.

Today, 7 years later, it feels like it was yesterday you were here with us. It also hurts like it was yesterday that we lost you. I wish I knew, I wish I could've done more to let you know how loved you were. I wish you could read all these beautiful messages from people whose lives you have touched. I wish. I wish, I wish. But, you are gone. Never forgotten. I carry your laughter and life lessons with me every day. You are my angel. I love you.

Happy Birthday Steph. You are so missed.

This was the picture in the Naples Daily News from World AIDS Day, possibly 2001. Steph was in line to light a candle. She had sung a solo that evening of, of course, Amazing Grace. Her signature song.

Hey Steph,
I remember this day like it was yesterday. You were visiting Naples before you moved there and you, of course, were goofing around as usual. Now, you look like you were testing your wings. I miss you so much and rarely a day goes by yet, that I don't think of you with a tear in my eye. You touched more peoples lives than you will ever know. Love you and have missed you for a full year now. Hard to believe!

I wanted a perfect ending. Now I've learned, the hard way, that some poems don't rhyme, and some stories don't have a clear beginning, middle, and end. Life is about not knowing, having to change, taking the moment and making the best of it, without knowing what's going to happen next. Delicious Ambiguity.
Stephanie, you are missed

Like everyone else has written, I will miss Steph more than words can express. I remember being little and Steph would always do up my hair and makeup my face. I remember idolizing her and wanted nothing more to hang out with her. Now I look back at all the memories and wish there were more. I haven't been around much and I could have done more to be there and spend time. Family is so important and we should never take that for garnted. I love you and will miss you terribly Steph. (p.s. you guys shouldn't have left me in the tent!!)

As a new member of the family, I did not have the opportunity to get to know Stephanie well. The one time I did meet her, I enjoyed talking to her,and was really looking forward to future visits with her. Over the past few days, listening to people talk about her, I realized I missed out on knowing a really great person. In that way, this was my loss too. My prayer are always with her family.

Steph was a beloved niece. She always had a smile, and a happy heart. Even when life had her down, she looked for the good side. She left her mark on this world, and everyone who knew her is better for it. She was silly and fun, and made me laugh. She will be missed. I love you, Steph.

Be Still
Be still like the grass on a melancholy summer day
Be still like desert shrub.
Be calm and you will hear your loved one speak, in the stillness, in the calm, their love resounds.
If you are still this promise I make, you will hear the voice of your loved one helping you along your way.
Stephanie Rest in Peace...You are in my Thoughts and Prayers.

I sit in my office just numb and wordless. Her face is in my mind's eye, smiling, laughing, joking and full of life. I hear her voice. I see her working so hard with us at Neighborcare Pharmacy, all those long, busy nights, typing away and joking at it all. And, all I can ask is why? What could I have done better for her? Her smiling face stares back at me from her photo I have on my office wall. She will forever remind me that life is shorter than we think and all that really matters is each other.
November 1, 2006
My sincere sympathy to Steph's family and friends. I had the privilege of working with Stephanie at Neighborcare in Woburn, MA. In addition to being a smart and conscientious worker, she was a terrific human being...always very thoughtful, fun and sincere. It was always such a pleasure to be at work when Stephanie was there. I feel so sorry for everyone's loss, but know she is at peace.

Steph, was my Godchild, but she was my daughter in my heart, I took for granted that she will always be here for the daughter that I now have, whom she loved and made sure that she had fun with doing all things that kids love to do. The pain is great, but alot of memories of her make me smile and laugh. I will miss her greatly. She is with her Grandma

Stephanie was a wonderful human being who meant more to my girls and I than you can imagine. She brought a lot of energy, laughter and of course Nemo into our lives. My niece Steph understood what the word family meant. There was not anything she wouldn't do for her Mom or her Aunt Ro. She spent time with Haley and Nat when most people her age are too involved in their own life to care about their younger cousins. But not Steph, she truly enjoyed them. She will live on in them. I will miss you my silly beautiful niece.

I met Steph through my brother Chris DeLuca, and Jennifer Babbitt, and although I didn't know her very well, it was usually pretty interesting when you did get to hang out with her.

Steph was a great friend, neice, daughter, and cousin. There are so many good times that we had together. She was an awesome listener and always had something nice or funny to say. I will never forget what she said over the phone a couple of weeks ago when I was complaining to her about some typical teenage problems and she said, " haley life gets rough and you just want to give up but you know you can't let that get you down live life to the fullest because you never know what is going to happen." There are no words that discribe what she ment to me and how much I will miss her. She was the best and she always put a smile on everyones face.
