I'm so sorry for your loss. Steve was one of my Rooks at Norwich when I was a senior. Always enjoyed his sense of humor and his zest for life. After graduating Norwich, my career path led me to be a state hazardous waste inspector followed by a federal career as a manager of the Hazardous Waste Enforcement Unit. I only mention this to acknowledge that Steve and I were kindred spirits and neither of us saw any problem with discussing hazardous waste issues for, at least, 45 minutes. I am glad to have known Steve, watch his success in the environmental field and to consider him a friend. I hope you find solace in your time of grief. Steve left a big carbon footprint on every one he touched.

Shocked to here this news just today. I used to work with Steve and just can't believe it.
I had worked with Steve for years.
Steve was one of the most upbeat, positive and funny people I know.
An amazing hard, dedicated worker and generous person.
Steve and I would talk at length in the office about our families and share stories all the time.
My most heartfelt condolences to his family...I will miss him.

Steven was one of my best friends. We kept in touch since our days at clean harbors. I just left a message a couple of days ago on his work phone giving him grief about not texting me back, which he always did. I told him I was coming to have a coffee with him and for him to show me where my desk was going to be when I moved back home in a year. Working with Steve and Steven again What a treat. I am so so sorry for your loss Lee and family. He will be so very missed

Steve's professional demeanor was unforgettable: kind, easygoing, talented, and kept a great sense of ease and humor even when things were complicated. I will miss him as a professional colleague, and send my deepest condolences to his near and dear. "May flights of Angels speed thee to thy rest."

As I think about the impact that Steven made on my life, I remember back to our days at St. Patrick's School when we were kids. His smile lit up the room and he was always so fun. Years later, I remember being in college and a mutual friend of ours showed up in my dorm. We ended up calling Steve and chatted for a long time, laughing and remembering our grade school and high school days and talking about being in college (that was when we had to line up and use pay phones in the dorm!) More recently, he reached out to me when I was stuck in a very difficult situation trying to adopt my third child and keep her out of harm's way. Steven knew when to "sound the alarm" as he put it and offered to pray many a rosary for my child. It worked! He had so many gifts and was eager to share them with others. Praying that God is holding everyone close as we celebrate his life and mourn his passing.

Steve was a great guy. I will never forget him coming outside in his bathrobe during a snow storm to help me with my snow blower. It was new and I couldn't get it started. Steve, while laughing, pointed out that it didn't have any gas in it. He was very friendly and outgoing and just an overall nice guy. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

I went to Norwich with Steve or as we would call him "Flem". He made me laugh so hard and I can not even tell you about all the good times during and after college at our reunions. He was an amazing guy and one of a kind to talk to. His perspective on the situation sometimes had me boggled but always laughing. Flem was one of a kind and I wish I had spent more time with him. Becky and I will miss him dearly!
Rest in Peace Flem.
