LEVINE, Steven P. Age 68, of Waban, MA, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on September 18, 2024 after a long and courageous battle with Metastatic Thyroid Cancer. Born in Boston, he was the devoted son of the late Florence (Lipper) and Aaron Levine. Steve was the beloved husband for 30 years of Debbie Wennett. Loving and doting father of Jacob Levine. Cherished brother of Mark Levine of Denver, CO and Judith Luskin of Chappaqua, NY. Fond brother-in law of Michael Luskin, Nancy Rubin, Robert Wennett and Mario Cader-Frech. Dear uncle of Sarah Stern and her husband Kenan, Rachel Luskin and her husband Greg Croteau, Charles Rubin, Eric Rubin and his wife Brittany and Samantha Rubin Julian and her husband Ben. Dear great-uncle of Clara, Eliza and Oren Stern and Simon and Elliot Croteau. Steve was a humble and modest person. He always put other people's interests in front of his own. His greatest pleasure was derived from spending time with his family and his favorite activity was anything he was doing with Jake. Steve was so proud of him and of all of his accomplishments. Steve grew up in Brookline and graduated from Brookline High School in 1973. He attended Brown University, graduating in 1977. Upon graduation, he attended Tufts University School of Dental Medicine from which he graduated in 1980. After that he then completed a one- year General Practice Residency at Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia and then a one-year Anesthesia Residency at the Medical College of Pennsylvania. His endodontic training followed with a two- year residency at Nassau County Medical Center in East Meadow, NY. Steve was a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics (Board Certified). Steve was a highly respected endodontist. He joined Limited to Endodontics in 1986 and practiced there until his retirement in November 2019. He also volunteered as a clinical instructor at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine. Steve's goal as an endodontist was to not only perform a technically excellent procedure but also to make the procedure as painless and as simple as possible. He always tried to make his patients' experiences comfortable, educational and a dental procedure not to fear. He was heard asking his patients "Am I hurting you?" every ten minutes of a procedure. He prided himself on always collaborating with his patients' general dentist to make it a successful experience. Steve absolutely loved talking about teeth. Even after his retirement, he was happy to speak at length to a friend or family member about their dental issues. Steve was an avid Boston Red Sox and Boston Bruins fan, and loved going to Fenway Park with his family as well as traveling across the country to see the Red Sox. Steve took pride in his physical fitness and enjoyed working out at the JCC in Newton and going on runs. Steve ran both the Boston Marathon and the NY Marathon. He also competed in many triathlons and other races. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, September 22 at 1:00 pm at Stanetsky Memorial Chapels, 475 Washington Street, Canton, MA.
