TERESA TRAYERS Obituary

TRAYERS, Sister Teresa SNDdeN Sister Teresa, SNDdeN, 94, died on Saturday, March 2, 2024, at the Notre Dame Long Term Care Center, Worcester. Born Dorothy Trayers in Hyde Park, daughter of John and Theresa (Jordan) Trayers. Entered the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur in 1948, following in the footsteps of her aunt, Sister Teresa Patricia and her teachers at Notre Dame Academy, Roxbury. She earned her AB from Emmanuel College and, in 1970, a M.Ed. in Guidance and Counseling from Salem State College. A lifelong educator, serving schools throughout Massachusetts, notably for twenty-four years at Bishop Stang High School in North Dartmouth. Predeceased by siblings, Helen T. Skowron, Mary E. Johnson and John J. Trayers. Leaves nieces, nephews and her sisters in religion. The Funeral will be Friday, March 8, in Notre Dame du Lac Chapel, 555 Plantation St., Worcester, with Visitation at 1 p.m., followed by sharing of memories at 1:30 p.m., and Mass, at 2 p.m. Burial will be in Notre Dame du Lac Cemetery. Memorial donations to the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur, 351 Broadway, Everett, MA 02149.

Does anyone know what her religious name was before she took the name she was born with? I am trying to place her. I was at Stang from September of `62 to Juneof `66. Thank you!
