Sara,
We are so blessed to have shared many wonderful times with you and Tom. Some of our most precious memories revolve around sharing the joys and struggles of raising our families together in Cedarville. It was so much fun to listen to stories that Bob and Tom told about coaching together. Our vacations together in Enfield, on the Cape and in Florida were awesome. I’ll always remember Tom’s mischievous sense of humor and the twinkle in his eye, as well as his determination to beat me at Jeopardy (nice try). (He definitely owned the Boggle championship, though.) Bob and I will always treasure these moments. These memories will sustain us as the three of us continue to celebrate Tom’s legacy and the friendship that lives on.

Sara,
Although Tom entered our lives but only 1 year ago this has been the
most wonderful year to remember. His and your friendships mean the
world to us. "BIG GUY" will remain in our hearts forever. Tom stood for
what all should be...human kindness and love. His humor was the best
Tom could always bring a smile and sunshine to all he met. Tom will be
surely missed but always in our thoughts. Thank you Tom and Sara for
coming into our lives and your friendship.

When I was three and insisted on going to the beach on Christmas day, I learned that sometimes father really does know best, I was daddy's little girl. In second grade when I entered the Gong Show and sang The Battle of New Orleans, I learned how to believe in myself, I was daddy's little girl. After softball games when we would go to Betty Anne's, I learned it was never really about the ice cream, I was daddy's little girl. During our summer vacations, driving up and down the east coast, I learned how important family is, I was daddy's little girl. In high school when he gave me the sign to steal home and I did, I learned how proud he really was of me, I was daddy's little girl. At eighteen when I went away to college he gave me wings, I learned to be independent but he made sure I always called home, I was daddy's little girl. At twenty-four, when he gave me away, I learned that as hard as it is sometimes you have to let go, I was daddy's little girl. At thirty-three when I held Jake for the first time I learned what unconditional love was, I was daddy's little girl. At thirty-seven, I've learned he will always be with me, his memories will keep me strong and I will always be daddy's little girl.

Sara: Hopefully you will remember Bob Frye, a close friend of Tom when we worked at Citgo together.I remember our trip together (Tom & I) to Falls Church VA. to attend an E.K. Williams seminar. By the time the week was over everyone loved Tom. That to me sums him up. He was just a "likeable guy". He had a great sense of humor and I'll never forget his contagious laugh. I'm sorry we (Lorraine and I) never got to see you guys again. But that's the way life goes. We are doing well, with our three children and 3 granchildren. Our deepest sympathy to you and the rest of your family. Please drop us a line, when you get a chance.
Your old friends from Citgo, Bob & Lorraine Frye.

Dear Sara and Family,
YourTom was one of the finest educators I have ever known - a truly caring, sensitive and giving man. Knowing and working with him made my life better in so many ways. I treasure the memories I have of his great sense of humor and his incomparable qualities as a lover of children and leader of colleagues. My heart goes out to all of you - Tom will always be remembered.

Brendan & Family,
Your Dad was a great man. I always enjoyed hanging out with him post Bantam games. He was always there supporting the team but more importantly supporting you. He exemplified B.C. High's "Men for others" in his actions every day of his life. I don't think there is a kinder compliment you can say about a person. Our world would be a better place if there were more Tom McDavitt's.
My deepest sympathies to you all,

As
an educational leader and human being, Tom passionately worked for what
he believed. We butted heads and learned much from each other in our
years in Middleboro. Our mutual respect grew and thrived to this day. A
good Man--God Bless

Dear Mrs. McDavitt and Family, I just read of Tom's passing late tonight in our local Plymouth paper. I regret deeply that I was unable to attend his wake or funeral. Believe it or not I was just talking about Tom last night after dinner to my wife. I was telling her how Tom spoke highly of Flagler College as or daughter is interested in possibly attending. I had the distinct pleasure and privledge of caring for Tom as his Podiatrist for about 15 years. He was a role model for me as a man,a husband, a father and a person of deep faith. Tom McDavitt was many diiferent things to many different people, but above all he was a giver. His gift was love. The legacy of love Tom McDavitt has left all of us blessed to have known him will live on,for love is eternal. Thank you Tom.

Sue and all the McDavitti family. I know the pain of loosing a brother way to soon. My heart is sad for all of you but you need to believe that he is no longer in pain and is smiling down on all his family now and always with God at his side. You will see him again in a better place.

It was a heartfelt shock today when the e-mail from our alumni liaison came and there was Tom's name. Back in the 1960s at Norwich University I roomed next to Tom freshman year and under him senior year and rooted for him and the very, very good football team he co-captained. Tom had a great, lively and unique sense of humor and was a lot of fun to be around. You did have to watch what you'd say! Tom will surely be sorely missed.

Dear Sara and Family,
It is with great sadness to hear about Tom. He was my great mentor at the old Middleboro Junior High. Because of him, I learned to give many TM's to so many students when I became a vice-principal. "TM" stood for "Teachable Moments" and for his initials!

To all the McDavitts,
I have wonderful memories of good times at Ainsley Street, Dennisport and Weymouth with your wonderful family. Tom was always around with a smile and a friendly hello. He became a wonderful family man and friend to all with deep pride in his Dorchester roots.
God bless you all as you move forward with such wonderful memories of your son, brother, husband, father and friend.

To all the McDavitt's. My deepest sympathy on the death of your son, husband and brother, etc. I new Tom through Cursillo, and prior to that meeting, I purchased my first home, i.e. 1 Aisley from you. It's hard to lose someone whom you have loved and respected. Tom was a genuine American hero, a family man, a regular guy, an educator, an athlete, a moral compass, a leader in the local and international communities, and a just man. Surely and sorely, he will be missed. May he rest in peace, with the knowledge that some day we shall all be with him.
