Born in Boston, MA, a son of Lucy (Sciaraffa) Venezia and the late Pasquale Venezia, Tom spent his early years living in Quincy, in a beautiful home that he custom built for his family on Wollaston Beach. He is a graduate from North Quincy High School and Northeastern University.

Tom worked as an automotive mechanic for the Boston Globe for many years, and anything with an engine was a passion of his. He also worked at DiMatteo Construction as a heavy equipment mechanic. He loved restoring classic cars, especially with his two sons and his son-in-law, his favorite being his candy apple red 1957 Chevy Bel-Air that he named "The Breeze." He also belonged to Swindles Car Club for many years. He also loved bowling and was on a bowling team for many years. His best friend was his granddaughter, who nicknamed him "Artie," and he loved taking her for chocolate chip pancakes on Sunday mornings. He was a one-of-a-kind grandfather and dad.

Tom loved the ocean, fishing and boating. He was a great chef, and he always had a spot for you at his dining room table. You would never leave his house hungry. He loved hosting barbeques and having company over for family day where he loved playing horseshoes. He loved traveling with his family, some of his favorite trips were to Italy, Bermuda, and Mexico. He was also a member of the Freemasons. Tom will always be remembered for his huge heart, selflessness, liveliness, larger than life sense of humor, and fierce pride in his children and grandchildren.
