Timothy Davern Obituary

Longtime Attorney and former Swampscott Town Counsel Timothy J. Davern of Salem, formerly of Swampscott, July 6, after a long and courageous battle with prostate cancer. Loving husband and self-confessed "soul mate" of Patricia (Welch) Davern for 46 wonderful years. Son of the late James and Grace (Sullivan) Davern. Father of 4 adoring children, Nancy Payne, Mary and her husband Robert MacDonald, Timothy Davern MD and his wife Lori Davern, and William B. and his wife Marta Davern. Grandfather of Antony Payne, Collin MacDonald, Salem Elise, Nikola and Gabriella Davern; predeceased by his only sibling Mary Datamo. Funeral Tues at 9:45 AM from the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal St., (cor of North St.) SALEM to be followed by a funeral Mass at 10:30 AM in St. John's the Evangelist Church, 174 Humphrey St., Swampscott. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be Monday from 4 to 8 PM. Interment will be in Swampscott Cemetery. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the McNeice Challenge, BC High School, 150 Morrissey Blvd, Boston, MA 02125 or to St. John's the Evangelist Church Restoration Fund, 174 Humphrey St., Swampscott.
