Hegarty, Timothy S.
Of Malden, passed away Nov. 24 after a brief illness at the age of 83. Survived by his loving wife of 57 years Christine V. (Prince) Hegarty of Malden, son Timothy Jr. and his wife Sheila of Tewksbury, son Kevin and his wife Katherine of Melrose, daughter Kathleen Hoff of Medford, son Robert and his wife Kathleen of Ipswich, and ten cherished grandchildren, beloved brother of William of Saugus, and Patrick of Malden. He was preceded in death by his sister Anna Kelly, and brothers Jeremiah, John, and Joseph. Tim was a dedicated family man. He took his children on ski trips every winter, and enjoyed 40 years of summer camping, boating, and hiking with his wife, children, and grandchildren in NH. He continued to snow ski into his seventies. At age 77 he climbed Mt. Monadnock. A fitness enthusiast, Tim was still working out five days a week at a local fitness club. Tim was a member of the National Guard for almost 20 years. A memorial gathering will be held for friends and family at Norton Funeral Home, 287 Main St., Malden at 10am on Wed., Nov. 27.
