TIMOTHY F. JONES

JONES, Timothy F. Age 30, died on Saturday, September 6, in Melbourne, FL. Tim was born in Boston on May 2, 1995, and grew up in Marshfield and Norwell, MA. A lifelong rocket, space, and science enthusiast, Tim arranged in his youth to attend multiple sessions at Space Camp in Huntsville, AL. He graduated in 2013 from Norwell High School, where he was a three-season athlete, playing football and serving as a captain of the lacrosse and ski teams. Tim attended Tufts University, studying politics, geology and film, before finding his vocation working with his hands as an HVAC technician. His love of rockets and space drew him to Florida's Space Coast, where he worked for Northrop Grumman in Melbourne and, most recently, Blue Origin at Cape Canaveral. Tim was a wonderful, kind person with a keen sense of justice and a smile that would light up a room. He loved everyone and was loved by everyone in return. He was a generous soul with a mind for mechanics and an ear for music. A gifted writer and witty conversationalist, he was happy to talk about whatever topic you brought up. He was always ready to fix your AC and serve you up a comforting portion of homemade mac and cheese or whatever his latest creative dish of the day was. He was a living embodiment of a song by his all-time favorite artist, Bob Dylan. "Forever Young," Tim and smooth sailing. We'll see you out there among the stars. He leaves his parents, Kevin Jones and Peggy Field of Norwell, MA; his sisters, Meredith Jones of Cambridge, MA and Emily Jones of Norwell, MA; his grandmother, Margaret Field of Catonsville, MD; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Ted and Clare Jones of Bethpage, NY; and his grandfather, Frank Field of Greenport, NY. Tim also leaves his two chosen families, the boys in Norwell and the folks at Chumley's Depot in Melbourne. A Mass Celebrating Tim's Life will be held at St. Christine's Catholic Church, in Marshfield, on October 25, 2025, at 10 am.
