TONY SISTI Obituary

SISTI, Tony J. "Loving husband, father, doting grandfather and adventurer." Tony J. Sisti died peacefully, on July 24, at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center, in Bennington, Vermont. He was 93 years old. Tony was born April 4, 1932, in Trenton, New Jersey. Born during the Great Depression, he spent much of his youth in St. Michael's orphanage in Hopewell, New Jersey, before venturing out on a life of adventure and wanderlust, where he brushed elbows with the likes of Albert Einstein and Elvis Presley. He followed love to Texas, Florida, Maryland, Vermont, and just about everywhere in between. He spent the bulk of his working years in various retail management positions across the country before retiring in 1997. Following retirement, Tony became a doting grandfather, rockhound, and Arizona enthusiast. He made regular visits to the Southwest as a snowbird and fell in love with Arizona's culture, climate, and canyons. Tony is survived by his daughters, Cleanna Sisti, Cheri Brigance and husband, Monte, Tami Vanderheiden and husband, Matt; his son and daughter-in-law, Tony and Beth Sisti; his daughter and son-in-law, Tara and Eric Schatz; eight grandchildren: Abigail, Lillian, and Rosabella Sisti, Rowan and Gabriel Schatz, Ben Brigance, Christina Couch and Alexandria Vandherheiden; and several great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to Bennington Project Independence, 614 Harwood Hill Road, Bennington, VT 05201 and voting to ensure that services like Medicaid are available to people like Tony, who rely on them for critical medical care. Tony's ashes will be spread in an Arizona desert sanctuary at a later date. E P Mahar & Son Funeral Home - Bennington,VT (802) 442-2516

Good memories of long ago.....Toni you loved visiting your brother John Clark and family at the Seaside home and my mom always looked forward to Tara´s beautiful letters about so many different projects they were involved in. As a matter of fact my mom actually babysat Cleanna after she was born. I remember the pictures Uncle Toni sent with all your puppies in the wagon!....so so many years ago!
Your dear dad passed away on the same date of his brother John´s birthday who would have been 102 this year.
So please remember to keep his memories deep in your heart for that´s where he will always be....forever and ever.
