VIRGINIA MARINAKIS

MARINAKIS, Virginia Of Brooksby Village, Peabody, previously of Lynnfield, died on November 7, 2022, at the age of 85. Born in Boston to Ernest and Angelina (Kiki) Constas of Lower Mills, she was proud of being a member of the first immigrant Greek-American family in a predominantly tightly-knit Irish community. Married for over 61 years to the late Nicholas Marinakis, DDS; she will be lovingly remembered by her sons, George (Molly) of Rockport and Eric (Wendy) of Eastham. She will be sadly missed by her four beloved grandchildren, Nicholas (Chelsea), Leah, Theo and Alex. Virginia, who was known by friends and family as Ginny, is survived by her brother, Charles (Helen) of New Jersey; and was predeceased by her sister, Tina (George) of New Orleans. Virginia was proud of being a medical secretary and enjoyed volunteering throughout her life, especially her time at Lynn Union Hospital. Ginny and Nick enjoyed travel, throwing memorable parties, and most of all, spending time with family and dear life-long friends. After Nick retired, she thrived at Brooksby Village, where she developed new friendships that gave her companionship and comfort. A Wake will be held at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home in PEABODY, 82 Lynn Street, on Tuesday, November 15, from 9 â€" 11 AM, followed by Funeral Services at 11:30 at the Saint Vasilios Church in Peabody. Burial will follow at the Forest Hill Cemetery in Lynnfield. In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation may be made to the Brooksby Village Scholarship Fund, 100 Brooksby Village Drive, Peabody, MA , 01960, or the Saint Vasilios Greek Orthodox Church, 5 Paleologos Street, Peabody, MA, 01960.
