We love and miss you. It's hard to believe I've lived 14 years without you. I always thought you'd be by my side during our golden years. Your beautiful girls are amazing daughters and take care of me in your stead. Our two little grandsons fill each and every day with so much love and joy. We all miss you so, and think of you and talk about you always.

As Walter's 10 year anniversary approaches, I just want to thank Eddie and Donna VanMeter for sponsoring this Guest Book. It gives us such solace to revisit this site and read all the wonderful memories and commentaries and to recount how he touched so many lives. We love him and miss him so very much and treasure hearing all the remembrances and "Walter stories" .

It was not until today - 03/03/2013 - that I learned of Walters passing. We were both employed at the Massport Police in the early 70's. Our last meeting was in Stoneham and as his obituary describes...he was enerjetic..animated and full of life. So young...rest in peace my friend.

Dear Paula, Lindsay, and Lauren,
I accidentally came across Walter's death announcement this evening while looking for another death notice. I was shocked and saddened to hear of his passing. He was far too young to leave us. Please know I think of you often and enjoyed all the years that I baby-sat for the girls. You are in my prayers.

1 Year has come and gone and its still hard to grasp you are not here with us. Still we miss you and think about you often. Until we meet again we will always miss you and recall the joy you brought us and the days we spent with you. Know that you will never be forgotten and were loved by all who knew you. This comes as a complete shock to me. I met Walter 20 years ago after contacting him and talking he and his family lived on the same street in Melrose. I really dont know what to say other than im sorry and he will be missed. My condolences.

To the Underhill family our deepest sympathy on the passing of your loved one. Walter for the past six years has been a part of our family and it felt like a he had always been part of our family. he was supportive and always available to talk with. He will be greatly missed. He was my son's attorney and I do hope that you had the opportunity to read the poem my son had written for him.

Dear Underhill family,
Walter was my husbands attorney and a dear friend he was a honorable man and true to his word. We have spent the last 2 years with Walter with many trips to Boston and many emails and phone calls. He spoke about his daughters and his lovely wife often. He loved you all dearly and was prideful when speaking of each of you. He always had a way about making everything better he encouraged us to not give up and that everything would be ok, So I want to say to you dont give up Walter is still encouraging all of us to be our best and do our best. He was a wondeful person in which by fate we got the chance to know him. When we were hopeless he was hopeful and he always found light in our darkest hours, I can't say enough good things about Walter he was an amazing person....He taught me to never give up even when the weight of the world was on our back. He was one of the worlds greatest treasures and a blessing to our family. May his strength keep you and May GOD bless you again, Walter was a blessing. He touched many with his kindness and what a legacy he is. I know your all strong and wonderful he said so.

I was so saddened and shocked to hear of Walter's death. My sincere condolences. We worked together as lawyers; more recently, he appeared before me. He was a dear, caring and decent man. Words can't express how sorry I am.
