Of Hyde Park, formerly of South Boston, March 13, age 83, suddenly. Dear husband of Mary (Rae) Whittemore of 60 years. Son of the late Bridget V. (Connolly) and Walter J. Whittemore. Devoted father of Arthur T. and his wife Eileen of Raynham, Walter J. Jr. of Hyde Park and John and his wife Natalie Whittemore of Hingham. Brother of Alice Hill of NH, Helen Galinauskas of S. Boston, Katherine and her husband William Regan of Mansfield and the late John Whittemore, Theresa Comstock and William Taylor. Brother-in-law of Gertrude Whittemore of Jamaica Plain. Also survived by 6 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and friends. Funeral from the Carool-Thomas Funeral Home, 22 Oak St., HYDE PARK, Monday morning at 9, Funeral Mass at Most Precious Blood Church at 10. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours Sunday evening 4-8. Childrens room available. Late member of the Msgr. J.J. Chittick Council 89 K of C, 4th Degree Fr. Michael J. McGivney Assembly 2313, Fr. James Hennessey Mission Club and Most Precious Blood Holy Name Society. Forty year employee for Wallworth Mfg Co. In lieu of flowers, donations in Walter's memory may be made to Our Lady of Knock Apostolate, c/o Our Ladys Shrine, Knock County Mayo, Ireland. Interment in New Calvary Cemetery.
