I knew Bill (Billy) since we met at Umass-Amherst, lo so many years ago. We kept in touch. I have followed him through his running career. It may not be generally known, but Bill, in addition to being a runner, competed, one year (I don't know which Olympics) on the Armenian Olympic Bobsled Team; Bill was very athletic, and he was drafted into service on the team, no doubt, as a 'pusher.' Bill's heritage was Armenian-American. We compared notes and touched base frequently, either via text, or, more often, telephone call - a seemingly archaic means of staying in touch. Bill had a big heart. These last many years, Bill was involved in many ways, caring for his sister. Bill was a good old soul, I will miss him. May his memory be a blessing. He will be missed. I extend my condolences to Bill's family - especially to his sister, for whom Bill was a consummate, loving, caring caretaker.
