WILLIAM PITKIN Jr.

PITKIN, William Jr. Passed away at the age of 85, on October 15, 2024, in Farragut, TN, surrounded by his three children. Born on February 12, 1939, Bill dedicated over 25 years of his career to the Polaroid Corporation in Waltham, MA, where he excelled as a mechanical engineer. He was a graduate of the Middlesex School in Concord, MA and furthered his education at Northeastern University School of Engineering. Bill was known for his passion for working with engines and anything electrical. A Ham radio enthusiast, he often spent his time tracking storms in Tennessee and Florida. In addition to his technical hobbies, Bill enjoyed the great outdoors. He was an avid sailor, skier, camper and hiker in his younger years and volunteered for the National Parks Service during his later years. Bill is survived by his sister, Virginia Pitkin Bride; his three children, Sarah Pitkin Buus, Julia Pitkin Healy and William Pitkin, III; and his nine grandchildren.
