Was going through some old photos in a box and found of picture of us dated Aug '67 and thought I'd google him and happened to find his obit. Met Jack in the 60s while he was on board a Navy carrier in the Med. A fine fellow - so sorry for your loss.

I worked with Jack for several years when I was a legislative counsel with the ABA's Governmental Affairs Office in Washington. Jack was one of the very best ABA Presidents, and one of the finest lawyers I ever knew. And such a good man. We will all miss him terribly. My sympathy to Mary and the entire Curtin family.

Dear Mary & Your Magnificent Family,
May Jack have reached heaven a half hour before the devil knew.
Jack certainly lived the life propounded by St. Ignatius and never forgot his BC roots. He was always kind to me there. Peace to you all who loved and supported him. Few indeed accomplish what he has done.

Much love and prayers.

It was my privilege to serve Jack as a staff person for the ABA. No finer man ever led the ABA. Knowing he was fascinated by emonyms, we presented him a plaque displaying a page from a dictionary with this entry: "Curtin vt to lead effectively, especially with grace and empathy" Jack Sweeney

Always the highest standards of legal practice. He was a mentor to attorneys that he never met, yet aspired to be even half of what he stood for and accomplished.
