Patrick M. Connolly

passed away Thursday April 8th, 2021 at the age of 85. Patrick was born in South Boston to Thomas and Bridget Connolly on March 22nd, 1936. He was a graduate of Christopher Columbus High School and earned an Associate's Degree in History from the University of Massachusetts at Boston. He was a Veteran of the United States Army stationed in Italy. On his return from the Army, Patrick worked various jobs before landing at the Boston Herald, where he met his wife Nancy. He subsequently left the Herald and began a 40-year career as a United States Postal Worker until his retirement in January of 2000.

He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Nancy M. (Conroy) Connolly. Survived by and loving father to Patrick Connolly and his wife Grace of Dorchester, Eileen Timmons and her husband Gerard of Weymouth, Brian Connolly and his wife Tracey of Abington, Dennis Connolly and his wife Colleen of Abington, Annemarie Stenstrom and her husband Daniel of Norwood, Kevin Connolly and his wife Allison of Braintree, and Sean Connolly and his wife Jill of Norwood.

Also survived by and loving Grandfather to Siobhan, Timothy, Matthew and his wife Julie, Michaela, Kaly, Keaton, Ryan, Joseph, Margaret, Bridget, Seamus, Lillian, Declan, and Audrey. Loving Great-Grandfather to Talise and Oliver.

Patrick is pre-deceased by his parents, his sister Mary Flaherty and her husband Martin, brother Thomas Connolly and his wife Eleanor, his brother John (Jack) Connolly and his wife Geraldine, his brother Joseph Connolly and his wife Dorothy, and his brother James Connolly who is survived by his wife Marie.

Many also knew "Papa's" love and friendship as Brother-In-Law, Uncle, Neighbor, and Friend.

Visiting hours will be held in the Robert J. Lawler and Crosby Funeral Home, 1803 Centre St., West Roxbury, on Tuesday, April 13, from 3:00 to 7:00pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Catherine of Siena Church, 549 Washington St., Norwood, on Wednesday, April 14, at 11:00am. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Interment Mt. Benedict Cemetery, West Roxbury.
