Charles Raches Obituary

Charles Raches Jr., 91, passed away on October 1, 2025. He was born on March 8, 1934, in Lynn, Massachusetts, to Charles and Carolyn Raches.

Chuck earned a Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Cornell University and served in the U.S. Army in Korea following the Korean War, commanding an Ordnance Detachment in the 7th Infantry Division.

He built a long career as an entrepreneur, founding a successful manufacturers' representative company, starting four additional businesses, and acquiring two others, one of which he took public.

Chuck was married to his wife, Marcia, for over 60 years. He is survived by his sons Charles "Chip" (Elizabeth) and Scott (Lori); grandchildren Charlie, Brayden (Allie), Evan, and Shaylen; and his brother, Stephen Raches.

Active in his faith and community, Chuck was a member of Springhill Presbyterian Church and supported many conservation groups. He loved hunting, fishing, skiing, and spending time in the outdoors with family and friends. He skied until age 85 and at 90 achieved a goal of hunting with his grandson Charlie when Charlie harvested his first duck.

A Memorial Service will be held at Springhill Presbyterian Church, 4769 W Babcock St, Bozeman, MT, on November 1, 2025, at 10:00 A.M. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Springhill Presbyterian Church.
