Gary Sundquist Obituary

Gary Alan Sundquist, 78, passed away on August 29, 2025, in Portland, OR. Born on July 27, 1947, Gary was known for his cheerful, positive, and loving nature.

Gary graduated from Joliet West High School in 1965 and shortly thereafter joined the Joliet police force, where he served diligently from 1967 until 1977. He then moved to Montana to further his career with the Bell Telephone Company, demonstrating a strong commitment to his professional life.

In addition to his career, Gary was a devoted family man. He is survived by his younger brother, Bruce Sundquist; his son, Christopher Sundquist and wife Hannah Seevers; his grandsons, Grayson Jones, Landon Sundquist, and Cooper Werhle; and his daughter, Michelle Metcalf. He was preceded in death by his sister and his parents.

Memorial services for Gary are currently being planned. His life was marked by his unwavering positivity and the deep bonds he fostered with those around him. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
