Charles Van Fossen Obituary

Charles "Chuck" Van Fossen
June 19, 1944 - December 9, 2020
Bradenton, Florida - Charles "Chuck" Van Fossen, age 76, a longtime resident of Bradenton, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on December 9, 2020. After courageously battling cancer he passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side.
Chuck was born June 19, 1944, in Johnstown, Ohio, to William "Bill" and Charlotte (Smith) Van Fossen. He lived his early years farming in Croton, Ohio, before attending Ohio Northern where he received his degree in business. He married Mary Hampton of Bradenton, Florida in 1964 and moved from Ohio to Florida in 1969 where Chuck had a long and successful career in sales.
Chuck is survived by his loving wife, Mary and their ten children, Kim, Kelly, Kathleen, Kristy, Kourtney, Katie, Jeffrey, Lindsay, Nicole, and Destany. He had 17 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren that called him Papaw. Chuck is also survived by his sisters, Dorotha Stansbury of Croton, Ohio and Sue Safford of Bradenton, Florida.
He loved his family with all his heart, and he loved riding his motorcycles. Chuck's easy-going demeanor and good sense of humor were loved by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. He will be sorely missed.
Memorial Services will be at a later date. Brown & Sons Funeral Homes & Crematory 43rd Street Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
If desired, in honor of his memory, the family would ask that any donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in his name.

Chuck and Mary have been dear friends for many years. They had a great love for each other and all their children and family, as well a deep faith in our Lord. I considered Chuck a dear friend. We will all miss him greatly. He was a blessing to my life. Enjoy Heaven, my friend

Chuck was the best brother a person could have. We shared special memories when we were children and also adults. He was there with me for my Joys and for my sorrows and I will always be grateful for him offering me a job in 1980 that helped Tim and Ron and myself to come to Florida. he was a very very special man and I love him very much.
