Charlotte Devine Obituary

Charlotte M. Devine
March 9, 2021
Bradenton, Florida - Charlotte M. Devine, 84, passed away at Manatee Memorial Hospital on March 9, 2021, after a brief illness. She was born in Hamtramck, Michigan.
She was the daughter of the late John and Eleanor Stacer; wife of the late Edward D. Devine, III; mother to Colleen (Tom) Sykes, Karen Devine and Susan (Fred) Lea; grandmother to Jillian, Derick and Adam Lea and Bryan and Kathryn Sykes; sister to Jerry (the late Pat Teer-Stacer) Stacer, Ginny Brennan, Tom Stacer and Patti Stacer-Sanwald. She adored her whole family, including her numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
She received her Bachelor's Degree in Texas, then went on to receive her Masters in Special Education at Fitchburg State University in Massachusetts. Charlotte Devine was a woman of incredible strength and kindness. Her deep compassion for others was exemplified in her career in Special Education, volunteering with the Joy Program at St. Joseph's Catholic Church and in the loving and supportive relationships she formed with her family and her many friends. Charlotte was an avid reader and gardener, enjoying flowers the most as they reminded her of her own grandmother. She loved sharing in family traditions and teaching them to her daughters and grandchildren who were all very dear to her. She appreciated the arts and especially enjoyed crafting, going to the theatre and above all Willie Nelson. Charlotte travelled extensively, often with friends and family. Myrtle Beach was a favored and frequent destination to spend time with her daughters and friends. Charlotte Devine was exceptionally genuine, unique and caring and her presence is irreplaceable for all who knew her.
Charlotte's Services will be held 10AM, March 18, 2021 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bradenton, FL. Her final resting place will be at Resurrection Cemetery in Michigan next to her parents. Thank you to anyone who helped care for her and to the staff at Manatee Memorial Hospital and Brown & Sons Funeral Homes & Crematory 26th Street Chapel. If you would like to honor Charlotte's beautiful life spend a day on the beach collecting shells, enjoy some chocolate (See's Candies was her favorite) and call a family member to tell them how much they mean to you. Char was a colleague of mine at Brookside Middle School. She was a genuine person with a great sense of humor. I will always remember working with her and the fun we had I do miss her even though it had been several years since I had seen her. RIP Charlotte

It was with great sadness that we read of the passing of Charlotte. Mom,(Anna Marie Block Ploe) sends her sympathy to her cousins as she fondly remembers all the good times and family memories, on the farm. May she rest in peace.
