Virginia, so sorry to heat about Gene. He was a very special friend to Mike and will be missed. We so enjoyed seeing you both on your way south. Keep the memories of Gene alive by speaking of him often. Know that you and your family are in our thoughts and prayers and please don't hesitate to call if you need anything.

Mr. Kay, Coach Kay was great guy. He was my drivers training instructor and football coach -- In DT I was once driving back to school slowly , stopping at all the stop signs being careful and he said " Faster Sullivan, just roll on thru those stop signs, I have a tee off time!!" In football " Sullivan, you apple head !! " Rang out across the field for all to hear " You should have gone the other way !!!" He was the best.

I know there are no words that can take away the pain that comes with the loss of Uncle Gene. What a man and what a life! His bark so grand yet such a gentle heart and soul that touched so many lives. His love for family was truly inspiring.
In my life, Uncle Gene stood so tall in my mind and he will continue to do so after his passing. He and your family gave me too much to ever put into words. The laughter and joy he gave us will forever be in my mind. My family was blessed to have known such a man; someone that made all of us proud to have known him.
My prayers and thoughts will be with all of you tomorrow.

Dear Aunt Virg and family,
Will always remember the fun filled summers in Michigan. Will miss Uncle Gene, however he will be forever in my heart with all the memories of the years past. He was a loving uncle and truly a good husband and father. My heart feels for all of you. With my deepest sympathy, Love Jane

Dear Virg and all the family,
Uncle Gene will be truly missed by our family. We will always remember the vacations we had in Michigan, the Thanksgivings spent with your family, the football games on the lawn, the friendship and all the wonderful times. I trust those memories will sustain you as it will us in the days, months and years ahead.
