April 12, 1961 - December 27, 2022
Bradenton, Florida - We are heartbroken to announce the death of Phil Connell. He passed away at the age of 61 on December 27th, 2022. He enjoyed the company of friends and family up until his final day. Phil was a man of great faith in the gospel. He is now resting with Jesus in paradise as we await the day that Jesus returns to make all things new and we are reunited with him.
Phil was known to be very kind and had a unique sense of humor. He was very artistic. He made a career in graphic design before there were smartphones with filters for photos. He would always pay keen attention to details of color contrasts in rooms and calligraphy in publications. He also loved music – playing and singing songs on his acoustic guitar. Phil also enjoyed staying active playing sports with his sons and cheering on the Buckeyes and Bengals.
He will be most remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He is survived by his wife, Maggie Connell; his sons; Nathan and Daniel Connell; his daughters in-law; Lindsey Connell and Rachel Connell; his grandsons; Albert and Nolan Connell; his siblings; Peter Connell, Pamlia Connell, Phoebe Walters and Perry DeLugo.
His Memorial Service will be held February 4th, 2023 at 11 AM at Grace Community Church in Lakewood Ranch, Florida.
Phil requested that in lieu of flowers consider making a donation to Loving Hands.

Phil is my cool younger brother. Tho we are 11 years apart, we had fun times as kids, riding bikes, playing baseball, wrestling, playing tennis which we continued as adults in Columbus. What we most fondly shared was our love of music and humor. We both play guitar and sing. He also played bass guitar.
We loved SNL and he did a hilarious impression of Martin Short as Ed Grimly wanting to meet Pat Sajak. I miss those good times with Phil.
